When asked about the importance of building a dedicated sales team, Tony emphasized the significance of deeply understanding the client’s needs. “We are literally an extension of your organization because my salespeople are out with your business card, and you have to be prepared to utilize our knowledge that we’re going to generate because sales is not just about revenue and client acquisition. It’s also about knowledge transfer and understanding why people are saying yes and why they’re saying no.” Tony also shared his philosophy on sales leadership and the importance of value-based selling. “If someone gave me 15 leads and gave you 15 leads, I promise you I’m going to do better than you will. And, it’s not because of the numbers; it’s because I have years of experience. I have more knowledge than you do. So, as a salesperson, yes, you have to do certain KPIs, key performance indicators, to achieve building a pipeline. But, you also have to be able to go to a prospect or client and say, ‘This is what it’s going to bring to your business.’ And, if you can’t convince them that there’s value, it’s a difficult sale.” The episode also touches on Tony’s views on the evolving sales outsourcing market, as well as the role of technology and AI in the sales process. Tony notes, “It’s [AI] definitely impacting what we do, but I think it enhances what we do. And, I think that’s the way people need to look at AI. It’s not a replacement tool; I think it’s an enhancement tool.
